Bus Ticketing Systems with IBMIBM and Transway share years of experience (since 1995) in the establishment and maintenance of electronic ticketing systems. Furthermore, IBM, together with Transway recently completed construction of an advanced ticket management system that includes the implementation of a new bus ticketing system that was supported by the Israeli Ministry of Transportation.

The experience accumulated in the joint work and success between IBM and TransWay over the years constitutes a significant advantage for the establishment of new public transport ticketing systems.

IBM and Transway have winning professional teams with depth, knowledge and many years of experience on various bus ticketing system projects. IBM and TransWay have profound knowledge and experience in building solutions for public transport operators based on the standard ticketing and smart card technologies. IBM and TransWay have experience providing support and maintenance services for equipment including on board ticket machines, ticket kiosks and ticket dispenser machines.  This joint experience also includes public transport ticktings systems and  integrated software systems that involve multiple bus companies for their bus ticketing systems. IBM, together with its partner TransWay, maintains the existing ticketing systems in a number of transport operators for the past 17 years and has implemented a wide range of solutions. The accumulated experience in providing maintanance to public transport operators is an asset to be considered by any mass transit provider or bus company.

Recently IBM and Transway implemented the new bus ticketing system at Israel's first Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, with bus ticketing systems and ticket dispenser machines on the platform instead the vehicles. This new system was implemented with Dan North and included these main ticketing system components: Ticket Dispenser Machines, Credit Loading Machines and Validators. The construction and launch of the project is complete and the two companies are working in concert during the current maintenance phase.

 

NEXT GEN

Transway develops, manufactures and assembles hardware for automated ticketing solutions. These machines and devices are designed to be sturdy and strong, and to withstand a wide array of weather conditions – heat, cold, rain, humidity, dust and snow. They need to withstand the entire gamut of road conditions as well. Even though they are tough and durable, they are also aesthetically appealing and intuitive to use, so that both drivers and passengers have an effortless experience during the boarding and alighting of the vehicle.
